NPA workshops explain Pharmacy DPO requirements
13 Jun 2018
The NPA's new DPO workshops provide guidance on how to establish this role in your pharmacy, as well as tips for training your team on requirements for consent and data breach.
As you may be aware the General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR), implemented on 25 May 2018, requires all organisations to put in place an accountability-based compliance framework for data protection and Virtual Data Protection Officers. Data Protection Officers (DPOs) will be at the heart of this new legal framework.
The NPA’s new DPO Workshops are created specifically to support pharmacy owners to navigate these new requirements. The workshops will provide guidance on using a DPO in your business, how to establish this role in your pharmacy as well as tips for training your team on requirements for consent and data breaches.
The guidance and information that the NPA has developed especially for the community pharmacist is delivered as a three-hour workshop. It includes real life examples and scenarios you can compare to your business. Each workshop is delivered by the NPA’s Director of Pharmacy or a member of the Pharmacy Team, and your learning will be assessed at the end of the session for your own development.
Places at the NPA’s new DPO workshops at one of six venues around the UK will be available to book now for £100 (£130 non-Members), which includes the full workshop, learning assessment, refreshments and networking time with your peers.
